PROVERBS 17 9-10  (The Lyric taken from NKJV)

Pro 17:9 He who covers a transgression seeks love,

But he who repeats a matter separates friends.

Pro 17:10 Rebuke is more effective for a wise man

Than a hundred blows on a fool.

Few of us can say that we have never gossiped about somebody at some time of our lives. Yet fewer, by far, understand the danger of such evil communication.

Not only does it damage the reputation of others, but some show from the word of God that our agreement with Satan in doing so, creates a two witness death decree over our brothers, even if what we say in in fact true. But we ourselves are also in danger, for God hates gossip and will judge the one who does. For what right do we have to condemn another, if we have been forgiven everything by Him. God has mercy,  but then should we not repent of such words, even for that forgot about?  We will. scripture says, give account for our idle words. May he indeed have mercy. But to him who has shown no mercy, no mercy will be shown. Thing about that!

Are you offended at this rebuke? "Rebuke is more effective for a wise man, than a hundred blows on a fool!"

Have you ever called someone a fool? I did! I actually used the word: imbecile . Moments later, the offended man, a policeman, and a large and powerful one, backhanded me through a window! I might add that what I initinally said to him was the truth. But when he queried it, I called him an imbecile! I had a child in my arms at the time, and was all the more offended that he did what he did. But through this experience, (which included the doctors forgetting, after stitching me up, to give me an antibiotic, resulting in my would causing serious sceptic illness and pain),  God taught me a great lesson:

Mat 5:22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.

I love proverbs, for it is full of wisdom and I have in my life been a great fool, so for one have needed them. There is a chapter for every day of the month. Who knows what suffering you might save yourself from, if you commit to reading them more often.

Yhanks for listening
